Twakkok: The Qaes' word for clock (and time).

Twakkok is a poetry zine and a sort of sequel to my other zine in Oryisae'a, Oryidiae'a! You can read more about the species that speaks Oryisae'a in the page description there!

Long After Oryidiae'a

Oquii had eventually brough back a lot of Qaes to Existence: and among them, there was Roaqei Aqeeu'u, who would later join him in The Alliance, a group of "heroes" who were kind of taking the Qaes' place in saving Existence from space-time anomalies and other conflicts.

Roaqei sadly doesn't... last much in The Alliance. She suffers an incident along another Ally: an immortal human called Lucas Pip, who she considers a friend (even after said incident). This leaves both members of the Alliance heavily injured, both psychologically and physically, though Roaqei manages to go on.

She then decides to leave The Alliance and make her OWN group of mercenaries: The Rogue Liberty. The Alliance could have thousands of members to help all universes... but The Rogue Liberty had precisely what the name implied: freedom.

The Rogue Liberty is formed by 7 members: Roaqei Aqeeu'u herself (she/her, Qae), Jason Lecrerq (he/him, Human), Ollie El Samsa (she/they, Mothersneel), Shelly Payapa (she/they, "Human"oid), Kuu Ultralune (she/her, Halikoi) and Valve Guy "Rowan" (he/him, "Human"oid). Who's the seventh member you ask? It's a secret for now :]

This poem is about Roaqei's relationship with Lucas after she made the Rogue Liberty.

Notes and Special Thanks

Twakkok was made by Magikya Studios lead Barbilou for the Not My Lang 3 Jam, initially inspired by the theme "Forgotten Things" (though it ended up more as "Forgotten Beings" here :']).

And a fun fact: I've been thinking about how Qaes would say "zine" while making this and I've concluded it'd most likely be "akoi" (from "poakoi", which is the Oryisae'a word for "book" or in some other contexts, "magazine"!)
